Monday, Monday
This day can be perfectly expressed through The Mamas and the Papas #1 1966 hit, Monday, Monday. I have presented here the song's beautiful lyrics, written by Mr. Phillips, father of the Phillips of the group Wilson Phillips. Those words italicized are the lyrics. The words in bold letters are my correlations. I'm going to relate the meaning of the lines with how bad this day turned out. Enjoy...
Monday, Monday, so good to me Monday morning wasn't that bad. It was acutally ok.
Monday mornin', it was all I hoped it would be
Oh Monday mornin', Monday mornin' couldn't guarantee
That Monday evenin' you would still be here with me Yep, Monday morning was deceiving. It completely tricked me. The day turned out terrible.
Monday, Monday, can't trust that day Ditto!
Monday, Monday, sometimes it just turns out that way *sigh*
Oh Monday mornin' you gave me no warnin' of what was to be I know!!! Exactly!
Oh Monday, Monday, how could you leave and not take me Well, actually, this I can't relate to.
Every other day, every other day
Every other day of the week is fine, yeah I concur.
But whenever Monday comes, but whenever Monday comes
A-you can find me cryin' all of the time Hahaha...The most brilliant line of the song. If you read my classmate Kassie's entry in The Class of the Titans's tabulas, you will discover how retreat catharsis came in weeks too early.
Monday, Monday, so good to me *snort*
Monday mornin', it was all I hoped it would be no comment
But Monday mornin', Monday mornin' couldn't guarantee
That Monday evenin' you would still be here with me again, can't relate
Monday, Monday, can't trust that day AMEN!
Monday, Monday, it just turns out that way Oh well...
Oh Monday, Monday, won't go away I KNOW!!!
Monday, Monday, it's here to stay NOOOOO!!!
Oh Monday, Monday Oh Monday, Monday Oh Monday, Monday...
Thank goodness for the Emmys and Jess's birthday. They saved the day. Patty brought a little cute cake for Jess with a little cute golden candle.

Welcome to Ana St.!
My blog is finally the way I want it be. I first wanted it to have a 50’s Diner theme, which turned out to be such an elaborate design that I discarded it and went for a more mod 60’s look. The Diary of Ana Alcala is a part of The World According to Ana, and the newest chapter of The Diary is “Ana St.” The last one that you may remember (or should I say ‘you haven’t even heard of’) was “The Summer of ’04.”
Well, where has my life been since “The Summer of ’04?” This is such perfect time to answer this inquiry because I am at one of the crossroads of my life right now. First term exams just ended this week. Yes, the First Term of my Last Year in AC is over. As it turns out 4th year teachers check TE’s real fast, so we’ve received a couple of our test results. All I can say about the results are that they weren't very promising. Heck! They were vile, horrendous, and despicable! Take Physics for example. 68/100 is already part of the Top Ten in the class. You know, when we were just beginning with 3rd year, our teachers kept telling us, "Third Year is probably the hardest year of high school." We then thought that Fourth Year being the hardest year was a common misconception. We actually thought it was true, what with Chem and all the pressure to get high grades to look good in college apps. We actually looked forward to the "easy life" of senior year. Hahahaha! Oh how innocent we were! At first, we actually thought that senior year was going to be a breeze. Then one of our English teachers said that 4th will be even harder than 3rd year. With a doubtful frown, I ignored the comment. Little did I know that what was to come was to be simply too much. You know how the stress in junior year comes somewhere in the middle of the year? Yeah? Well that kind of stress? Comes right smack in the beginning of 4th year! You know how Manna kept on bitterly mumbling that she hated school in 3rd term last schoolyear? Well this term, I kept on shouting out loud what Manna merely mumbled.
I took the UPCAT last month--a monumental stage in my life. Speaking of which, the ACET is tomorrow! Nope, that exclamation point was not to express excitement, but rather, a feeling of impending doom and panic. If you haven't read this yet from my old blog, UP is my favorite Philippine university while Ateneo (Atenean pronunciation:"Thee Uh-reh-neh-yaw!") is my most despised. That's too bad because if I don't pass UP (knock on wood), my second choice is Thee Uh-reh-neh-yaw. That's why I'm scared. What makes this even more scary is that I'm barely prepared! Look at me! I didn't review at all (although reviewing for terms exams may help), and I'm still awake, blogging! This is a far cry from the preparations I made for the UPCAT. That's bad because the ACET does have the reputation of being the hardest of the university entrance exams. That's entrance exams per se. If you're talking about hardest to get in to, then it's probably UP. Another point against me is that I hate Ateneo. Yup! I'm worried of not passing my hatest school. There's an Ateneo-La Salle UAAP Basketball game tomorrow while I'm taking my test. I wonder what kind of omen that game would bring.
I have to pass Ateneo. Why? First reason would of course be because it's my second choice. The other reason would be my pride. If I fail the ACET, that would be so embarrassing. The proud Ateneans would be able to say, "Ha! Precisely what I told you. The Ateneo only accepts the best students." If I pass on the other hand, that would be jolly good fun. That is, if I also pass UP. If all those conditions are met, then I will be able to say, "Ha! I passed your purportedly difficult and gruelling exam, and yet, I'm not enrolling!" Haha! (I hope Jess doesn't hear this.)
Please pray for me. Bottomline is, I have to pass Ateneo.

This Blog is Under Construction
This Blog is currently under construction (as it has been for the past month or so), but if you are in search of any desperate entertainment measures and are intent on using up internet time in any way, then you might be (or then again may not be) interested in reading my summer blog, The Summer of '04.
